Toast 9 - Xvid - how can I burn with SRT file

Hallo All:

I am trying to put on disc - file is avi- XViD also has a srt file for subs
when I play the file on QT subs show - and when I put into Toast /edit button /video button - and play - subs are on the tiny screen -
When I burn to disc - no subs

how do I do this to get the subs burned onto disc ?

Perian (which I assume you have) loads the subtitles automatically. However, Toast doesn't use that "service".

Try Submerge; it will embed a subtitle track into the video (which Toast might then see). Alternatively, exporting the video, transcoded and "flattened", with the subtitles truly embedded in the video stream, might be necessary.

However, if you want to have switchable subtitles, I'll leave that for another helpful individual to provide that info (as I no longer burn video to DVD).

I use ffmpegX. It will author your mpeg file with the srt subtitles into the dvd format.

can you expound a bit more - i tried ffmpegx not sure which setting is best - I did remove Perian 1.1.4 and downloaded 1.1.3 - but have not installed yet
could this be why the subs did not show up ?

or maybe you know a link to better help me ?
