I am currently looking to change careers to work in film & video archiving. I don't yet know whether this will take the form of a curatorial role, that of a librarian, or in a technical role restoring or converting video and celluloid for storage or preservation. It seems to be a fairly niche industry to break into, but I have experience in the television and film production industry for the last ten years. I though perhaps someone in this community could offer some advice on how to go about making contacts in this field. I am local to NYC but am willing to relocate for the right position. Thanks!

NY should be a great location for this. Recently saw an article on this in the NYT, I think.

I wish I'd seen this sooner -- but NYU has a program directed exactly towards this, something I have also been very interested in pursuing --
