    I have many videos shot with my camera in 640x480. I want to turn them into 16:9 by zooming and croping from the top and from the bottom. Can it be done with ffmpegX or any other free software in OSX?

    ffmpegX isn't free, it's shareware. And yes it can be done, using the crop tool and setting the appropriate target size.

    Can you be a little more specific please? I found the crop option but i cant find find the target option. And i dont know what values to input.
