    If i wanna use a 601 matrix (tv scale), any idea of what value i should pick ?





    What's the meaning of the following options: transfer characteristics & color primaries

    Lastly, are these parameters really of great importance if things are done well prior to x264 encoding ?

    Unless something has changed recently, my understanding is the VUI parameters don't actually do anything (they are like metadata). Real changes to colormatrix , crop etc... can be done through avisynth
