    Hi all,

Do you know where to find some nice 'free' stock footage to apply in our home made videos - I mean real free, not royalty free.

    Thank you very much.

Maybe some public domain video from the national libraries? One place to try: http://www.archive.org/index.php

You might also check your countries national library and see if they have video archives.

http://www.stockfootageforfree.com/ has quite a bit of stuff and seem to be flogging it for the price of postage

    at $8.41 S&H, they are still making $7 per disc, $70 per 10, $700 per 100, $7000 per 1000
not saying there's anything wrong with the footage but you start to add all that up...month after month...year after year...not a bad profit for being marketed as "free"

Hurry, there are only 500 copies available!
    Yep...and I'm the Pope

Given the price of standard stock footage, this is still a good deal. I have a handful of discs, which they sent halfway round the world at no extra charge. Often times you are paying hundreds of dollars for a single clip and for limited usage rights.

They are just HD res Mov files. Because they are relatively short loops, you can get quite a few on a disc. Discs are just burned as data.

I didn't see where they described them as data discs. If someone were to think they were regular DVD's and tried to cap from a stand-alone, it wouldn't play. I've been kicking around doing the same with footage I've already shot but I'm too busy shooting a short movie.
