  1. I have some videos (TV episodes) I've downloaded in AVI format (divx or xvid). When I play them on my pc, the sound is perfectly in sync. However, when I play them on my Philips DVD player (supports divx), the sound and video are almost 1 second out of sync. What's the quickest way to repair these? I've had no sync problems with the other 1000 videos I've downloaded over the years, just these (tv rips, if that matters).

Can you post the details from the avi that gets out of sync? Using for example mediainfo.

But I guess it would be easiest to just reconvert them with for example avi recomp.

Are you sure it's out of sync (especially throughout the entire video)? On at least one of the recent players (like the 5990/5992) the sound may seem to start about a second or two after the video begins to play, but will still be in sync.
If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them?
