Hi, I have just bought a Blu ray player with a USB port on, so I have decided to start to convert TV episodes that I have on DVD to a divx format so I can put on a hard drive, and plug into this to play.

What's the best way to do this? I have been converting some episodes for the last week, but seems to take ages. There are 4 epiosdes per dvd. I rip the DVD to hard drive with DVD fab, and then I started using Simple DIVX to take this, put it as one big movie then split with Easy DVD splitter into their individual episodes. This was working ok, then Simple DIvx wouldn't work any more, just kept saying has stopped working. I have tried other methods, like Divx convertor, but takes ages, and then was also using DVD fab to rip eash single episode. I have just completed one series of dvd's(13 episodes) but has taken me a couple of days to do so. Is there any software I can use, that you can specify these episodes, then convert to divx, I can just walk away from and it's finished when I come back?

    Thanks in advance.

When I ripped some Seinfeld discs to avi divx I used Fairuse Wizard, open dvd, choose the episodes I wanted and settings. Done. But I don't think it can convert from a video_ts from the hdd though(just an iso or dvd drive).

Or try handbrake, choose each episode and add to queue and convert.

Many thanks. I've just downloaded that(the older free version). I don't mind just doing this straight from DVD, as most I have recorded of the Tv onto a HDD player and then burnt to DVD.

Will post how I get on!
