I have software called "Avi Screen" by a company calle BoByte. It has done a pretty nice job at capturing the screen as video, because i've been using it a few years now. Now, with h264 and other high quality codecs out these days, how would i implement them into the software? If someone can suggest a high quality codec to take videos of just screen shots, i'd appreciate it.
thanks!
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

If it supports vfw codecs you can install the x264vfw from http://sourceforge.net/projects/x264vfw/files/ .
BUT your computer might not be able to real time video desktop h264 recording. And you will also get better quality by recording in uncompressed format or similar like lagarith, huffyuv and then convert to h264 with highest quality settings.
