Blu-ray player playing off Colors

We just recently had our workstations at work replaced and upgraded. I had a blu-ray player added to my machine so I could QC blu-ray discs without using my editing computer. The people who we hired to put the system together kinda jazzed up my machine so that I could not play Blu-rays or DVDs. They recently replaced the drive with another one that plays DVD Perfectly and Blu-rays but with the blu-rays all the colors are off. When I say off I mean they look like all the colors on the screen have been inverted. I don't know why this is happening or how to fix it. I looked at all the settings on the Power DVD application that is playing the discs but I cannot find any preset or setting dealing with color.
Any Ideas?
I cannot trust the people who put this machine together to help me out with anything.

What powerdvd version?
I guess powerdvd has notified you about some blu-ray playback updates and you have installed them? As lots of newer blu-ray requires updates. Or maybe try another blu-ray player like TotalMedia Theatre.

And be sure to check your graphic card advanced settings also, even though I don't think they should matters cause then should also dvd look like that.

follow Baldrick tip and try TotalMedia Theatre trial to compare playback with pDVD.

i start thinking the same as edDV.
i thought powerDVD is maybe not the best (usability/performance) but quite stable and reliable software, and its not.
each software update causes more problems

in my case TotalMedia is not much better it stopped working at all (TRIAL) after 1 or 2 days... cant start the application.

I haven't had any problems with powerdvd 7.3 so far... But I also agree that a standalone blu-ray solution would be MUCH better for QC.

I totally agree. All of the available software Blu Ray players are deeply flawed and should not be regarded as reliable for testing. TotalMedia Theater seems to be the best of the bunch and if you're having problems with that, that just illustrates why PC testing is bad. You should be aware that each release of PowerDVD is less functional than the one before it. That's why Baldrick is using an old version no longer available from Cyberlink.
