    Hi, all!

What can be done to get rid of this kind of VHS tape artifact?

  2. I know of no other solution than to hand edit that frame. Hopefully, you can cut and paste from previous frames.

I've got a 1-hour footage spoiled with such noise. A group of 20-30 half-dropped lines appears in the same place in each frame throughout the whole clip. May be there is some specific filter that could be applied locally (I mean for a particular group of lines in a frame)

    Thanks for reply

NeatVideo. Best results I've seen. However, it's indeed extremely slow.

  5. In all honesty that looks like a very bad case of tape damage/degradation. You might be out of luck in trying to truly remove it, but I never say never. Try the filter listed in the post above or as another suggested to fix it via photoshop as frames (which would take months) if possible

That problem is that the tape has a crease near the edge thats cause by a faulty/dirty pinch roller and cant be fixed by any method, only thing that can be done is to merge the pixels above and below into the middle with filters which wont help much anyways.

You can open the flap on the vhs tape and see the crease.
