The Mac with iMove converts AVCHD to 960x 540 for editing.

Alternate 1 is to convert to AIC 1440x1080i or 1920x1080i for editing in FCE or FCP.

Alternate 2 is upconversion using ProRes422 for FCE or FCP.

Alternate 3 is to abandon the Apple way and buy Premiere Pro or AVID.

    abandon the apple way...

if it were only that easy. too much tied up in computers and software.

    any mac/FCP users on here?

doing the pro res conversion still ain't working. it doesn't like the files via "log and transfer"
