What DVD player has DVI-D out? Describe your cabling. Give model numbers for DVD player and LCD Monitor.

First set player to 480p. HDCP may be limiting higher resolutions.

The LG LST-3510A(which I have) has DVI output but you're correct EdDV because of HDCP DVD playback it's limited to 480p, that may very well be the OPs problem.

    See this review.

    Product summary
    The good:
Excellent performance via DVI; converts DVD resolutions to 1080i and 720p; sleek styling; relatively inexpensive.

    The bad:
No DVI aspect-ratio control; DVI jack won't work with non-HDCP displays.

    The bottom line:
Great video and high style make this DVI deck shine, but make sure you have a compatible TV.

The 1280x1024 SP7106 doesn't seem to have HDCP. At least not in the listed specs.

So you should try 720x480p and adjust aspect ratio with custom H&V size presets.
