Hello,
I've searched the Forums for ideas how to fix this issue but wasn't able to find anything. The problem I have is as follows:
1. If I connect the DVI port of my PC to the DVI port of my Panasonic projector using a generic 1m DVI - DVI cable it works fine.
2. If I connect using a 5m Kordz DVI - HDMI cable with a Belkin HDMI - DVI adapter on one end it works fine.
3. If I connect using a 10m Belkin PureAV HDMI - HDMI cable with Belkin HDMI - DVI adapters on each end it does not work (an image occasionally appears but is very grainy and washed out then disappears).
4. If I connect using a short 1m Belkin PureAV HDMI - HDMI cable with Belkin HDMI - DVI adapters on each end it doesn't work (same problem as above).
I understand there are many things that can affect HDMI/DVI connections (eg. EDID issues, cable lengths, resolutions, graphics card drivers etc. etc.) What confuses me is that as you can see above, this problem does not seem to be caused by any of these. I am wondering if it is simply the use of two adapters on one cable that is causing problems but I've not read anything to indicate this can cause issues.
I would appreciate any ideas or suggestions you may have.
Best regards,
Ryan.
