    Hello, New here. I found the forum while searching for recalls ( didnt have any luck)

    Anyway, i have a Sony Handycam Vision CCD-TRV108 NTSC.

    When i turn the camera on and hit the record button, i get a static looking black and white screen. No picture will show up. Kind of looks like the old tv stations when you didnt get that channel! I emailed sony and they showed me how to reset my camera and all that, but it still does not work. If i look through the eye piece, its the same thing.

    Now if i take a tape that has a recording on it, It shows up perfect on the side screen and the sound is fine.

    What do you think is going on here? Sony wants $111 flat rate to repair it but i feel that is to much for an older camera.

    recording sounds kaput
    they're still going for around $150 on ebay...
