hello everyone, im new here to video help. this is the first place i came to that may be able to help me. i recently bought an s - video chord to hook up from my video card to my tv. my video card is a 512 mb geforce 8800 gt. and i hooked it up to about a 32 inch apex tv. it was a pain at first to get my settings configured for it to actually be stable and work on my tv. im not sure if this tv is just too old for modern technology or not. the tv is about 3 years old maybe a little older. my problem is everytime i would start to play a game like world of warcraft or counter strike, when the screen changes to the game the screen turns blue and says s - vhs and i cant do anything except restart my computer and the screen goes back to normal. if anyone has an idea of what is going on and can help me i would greatly appreciate it

Be sure to change to a resolution in the game that the TV supports.

I take it you are using an s-video cable? The s-video output from the graphics card usually only works at certain resolutions. Often 1024x768 and below. Try setting the game to 1024x768, or 800x600.

If your TV has an HDMI or VGA input try using that instead. The picture quality will be much better.

I assume you mean the Desktop is running at 800x600. But most games change the resolution when you start them. You have to specify the desired resolution, 800x600, in each games setup options.

is the tv hooked up as a secondary screen or the primary display? is the desktop extended to the tv as a secondary display or is the tv a clone of the primary? if the tv is not the primary display, that might be your problem.
