Question how to correct full screen mode too small

I have a Scrabble game that has a full screen option mode. In the past, when I select this mode, the screen goes dark, and after a few seconds, the game switches to full screen. However, I reinstalled XP, and now, when I choose full screen mode on the game, I only get about 2/3 full screen. I played with the basic display properties adjustments ( display size is fine) but can't solve the problem. This is an old HP laptop. Any ideas would be appreciated.

you might want to try re installing the video driver.

Solved. I went to the HP website and was able to download and install a 25mb video driver and that solved the problem. The driver also solved the problem of poor (jumpy) scrolling. I intially searched Google but that didn't yield anything. There were many references to "video drivers" and many sites linked to Microsoft web site where I couldn't seem to find what I wanted.
