  4. open pp3. use file/import. navigate to the card. open the contents folder. open the video folder, open the mxf file. do the same for the audio 00 file, but it's in the contents/audio folder.

What is the source of the file?

MXF is a pro minefield more linked to Panasonic DVCPro than Sony's XDCAM but it could be that too.

This older wiki entry describes some of the first level issues. Your job if you accept it is to trace the origin of this file. We can't do that for you. Which camcorder produced the file? Or was it a Firestore drive?

The story gets more complicated as you dig in.

PS: If I'm re-reading your original post correctly, you have an SxS card from an XDCAM-EX camcorder?

OK, I can give you more background but not a solution. I've only worked with Panasonic MXF, not yet XDCAM-EX.

    Good luck with that.

  9. get and install mediainfo. put it in text mode. open your source mxf file with it. copy the complete text output and paste it here so we can see the specs. do the same with the output mpeg-2.
