Folks, can anyone suggest or recommend an application that can show a thumbnail view and catalog and/or sort video clips?

I'm looking for something to help me sort hundreds of individual files - MPEG, AVI (various CODECS), MP4 etc - prior to archiving, editing and playing. The sort of application you'd use for a photo library, only with video. I'd like to see a thumbnail for each clip, because some of the file names are cryptic and I've long since forgotten what they are.

    Any ideas would be welcome.

The price tag is not for the faint hearted though.

Thanks for that suggestion. Unfortunately it won't recognise MP4 files without QuickTime installed, and that puts me off more than the $199 price tag.

I use the CoreAVC CODEC for H.264 files so have no reason (or desire) to have QuickTime.

SageTV gives me thumbnails of all video formats without needing Apple's application, but tells me next to nothing about the files.
