I am looking to clip plays from video of my son's football games off of different .VOB files and combine them in a highlight video with music as a background while video is playing. I have Cyberlink Power Producer version 3, and it doesn't seem so user friendly and you can't put in music to the video itself, only the menu page. Any suggestions you may have on a good software to import .VOB files, clip parts of them and combine in such a manner for saving as video file and burning to DVD's would be greatly appreciated!!!

I'm not sure about importing VOBs(which are easily converted to mpeg files with other software) but I've been playing with Magix Movie Edit and it's pretty darn easy to use.

    The cheaper version is $50.

You can try VOB2MPG and then import the mpg in powerProducer.

PowerProducer version 3 works with VOB, though merging clips doesn't seem so user friendly (maybe a more recent version is much better at all that??). What I didn't like most is not being able to attach a song clip to the actual edited video, and that kept me from fooling around to get more familiar with cutting and merging clips. Womble also notes being able to add music to the title/menu page, but says nothing about putting music as the background to the video itself.

Womble is an editor -- a psuedo-NLE of sorts -- you can do whatever you want for replacing audio just fine.
