Has anyone used the Emachines EL1300G-01w computer to burn DVD's? I can't find out what brand the burner in it is. I tried to backup a movie and it was breaking up/pixelating. I've not had that problem before with my 7 year old Compaq Presario with a LiteOn burner. I tried burning it in Nero9 at 8X speed, burn at once.

Anyone else had issues with this burner?

    Thanks in advance.

My first thought would be a media issue. Either because the firmware is out of date, it doesn't properly support the media being used, or because you are simply using a low grade media.

Some things to try: 1) a quality media such as Verbatim or Taio Yuden 2) a better burning app - try ImgBurn, it performs better and it's free 3) try a slower burn speed (this can sometimes overcome burner/firmware/media issues.

As for your burner, try removing the drive and checking the drive label. You could also try a software app such as SIW ( http://www.gtopala.com/ ).
