Extracting vids from Direct TV R 15 DVR...

Is there a how-to link here? I did this with a DVR 625, pulling the .tsp files, but what is the file to pull from a Direct TV receiver?

I don't think you can pull files off of a r15. Some directv tivo dvr's you can hack to get files off of but not an r15 afaik.

I think you're right - no extraction from R15, yet. I read for about 4 1/2 hours yesterday, including a 4 page, 7 page, and 8 page threads (GOOD info) Same knowledgeable posters' names were coming up too. Came down to EBRTS (?) (file properties management - FAT64 type), and lots of cash for proprietary info...

Are there any DirectTV DVR's that can have vids offloaded by mounting the drive with a Linux system???

Yeah there is an awful lot of info out there to read. I went through the same thing with my r10. Then I found out the dang thing can't be hacked. Oh well. In another month I'm cancelling my directv and going with straight over the air DTV and a series 2 tivo/dtv convert combination.

Some of the tivo made directv dvrs can be hacked. I know that the Hughes SD-DVR40 can be. And there are others. You can find these cheap on ebay. Sometimes you can even find them on ebay that have already been hacked. Do a search on ebay for directv tivo.

Once these are hacked you can use all the disabled tivo functions like tivotogo which allows you to pull the files from your tivo to your pc in a .tivo file. This .tivo file can then be edited with videoredo.
