    Hello!

I'm new to all of this stuff, so I apologise if this is a stupid question.

I have on my computer some episodes of a TV series that I would like to burn to DVD. They are in .mkv form. When I play them on my computer using the VLC player, they have subtitles: .ass subtitles which would appear to be part of the .mkv files themselves.

However, when I burn these .mkv files to DVD, the subtitles are lost. When using DVD Flick, I clicked the "add subtitles" button, but separate subtitle files were nowhere to be found, since they seem to be part of the .mkv files.

Is there any way of burning these .mkv files to DVD and keeping the .ass subtitles? Is it possible to extract the subtitles from the .mkv files and then stick them back in using DVD Flick?

Again, I apologise if this is a stupid question.

    Thank you!

Extract the subs using mkvextractgui / mkvtoolnix.
