Region Free Code for Philips BDP5012

Hello. I just purchased the philips blu-ray player (bdp5012) and i need to make it region free. (i have a region 2 dvd i want to play in it). Ive searched the internet and this website for help but i can't find the code!

There may not be a code. Some players cannot ever be unlocked.

You can always rip the DVD and re-burn it. Ripping will remove region protecting. Philips used to only make DVD players that could be made region free but Hollywood has gotten almost everybody to stop doing that. Maybe you'll get lucky and someone will post a code, but there also may not ever be one.

I only know of 2 BluRay players sold in the USA that can be made region free for DVD playback, and both are because of hardware modifications, not entering a code. Neither is made by Philips.

Please let me know if you've found one. I too have a BDP5012 F7 and tried the hack for the BDP5000; no luck!
