i've got a problem with my dvd player when using the svideo cable the video scrolls upward it was working perfectly and then one day i put in a dvd and it started screwing up if i use the composite cable then it works fine and if i use the same svideo cable on my htpc there is a line which goes up through the video but the picture doesn't move up like it does with the dvd player here is a video showing what it's doing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vKocwU6BpBw

the dvd player is a sony SLV-D100 dvd/vhs combo does anyone know what the problem is?

  2. no, but the first thing i'd do is buy a new cable and try it.

thanks for the reply minidv2dvd but right now no job no money so i'm broke buying another cable isn't really an option but i figured it must be the cable just didn't know why it started doing that after all these years when i hadn't been moving it around or touching it at all

and i've got a work around just using the composite cable but was just curious why it would start doing this i doubt there is any real way to fix it
