    I have AVCHD 1080i (Canon HF20) material and i want export my native AVCHD edit to ProPre422 50i (FCP).

    How i can do this CS4?

    When i select:

    -> .MOV
    and then:
    -> DV- PAL (wtf? i want HD nope SD ??? why only SD ?)
    and then codek:
    -> Prores422(HQ)
    and then i change resulation:
    720x576-> 1920x1080

    - Then i want keep interlace :

    * Is Field type upper first OK ?

    * Is 25 frame rate ok? or 50 ? (why is not 50i select ?)

    * Is Square pixels 1 ok?

    Is this metod ok when i want export my AVCHD to Prores422 ?

    P.S:

    ... why i must select SD?

    What is your goal for editing and output encoding? ProRes422 is usually used to upconvert AVCHD or HDV into a higher level 10bit 4:2:2 work flow where it will be integrated with higher end source. It may also have advantage vs. Apple Intermediate Codec (AIC) for heavy filter, effects or compositing but there will be more loss in the first conversion.

    AIC is the normal digital intermediate for AVCHD or HDV workflow. The intermediate files remain 8 bit and are less interpolated and much smaller than ProRes422.

    AVCHD is top field first and usually 1440x1080i/25 although some camcorder models have square pixel 1920x1080i/25 modes.

    I don't have a ProRes422 project set up so I can't help with detail menu settings.

    I need edit my film to Final Cut Pro (FCP) edit program. FCP not support AVCHD codek native... then AVCHD- codek must convert better HD- codek Apple ProRes422 .

    You can edit native AVCHD to Premiere CS4.

    Then i composition edit first Premiere CS4 my orginal AVCHD material and then i convert this composition ProRes422 and edit rest FCP.

    Why i do this way.... FCP include very good SmoothCam FX plug in

    OK. If you intend to use the SmoothCam FX plug in there may be benefit to using ProRes422 over AIC. SmoothCam FX will recalculate all pixels.

    You may be getting generation (recode) loss using CS4 as a cutter. That needs to be tested.
