I've got an issue with Media Player Classic playing .mts files. I get the video fine but no audio playback. These videos play back ok in VLC (although video playback seems a little jumpy due to spec of this machine i'm on) with the sound fine. I've had no issues with any other file types, just these .mts files that dont play audio.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Have you enabled ac3 decoding in mpc? under view->options->internal filters->transform filters.

    Or use ac3filter.

  4. In my case, just changing the extension from .MTS to .MKV solved the issue.

from the command prompt inside the folder with the files, this command changed them all quickly and conveniently:
    REN *.MTS *.MKV
