I have a couple hundred MPG 2 files I recovered from a bad drive. Is there a program that will scan the files for errors? I need one that can scan a whole folder of MPG2 files without me having to load them one at a time.

I'm surprised no one has been testing mpg2 files. I did find something that kinda works. PVAStrumento has a "scan" mode that will scan MPG2 files and spit out alerts if there are any problems. I changed the log settings to alerts only and don't save the log. Unfortunately, batch processing is useless because it doesn't tell you which file has the problem! So one at a time it is, but at least it works. The 2 errors I get in a partially overwritten MPG2 file are "Temporal structure wrong in GOP" and "PTS jump in video".
