Converting to FLV results in jumpy, grey 'solarized' video

Converting to FLV results in jumpy, grey 'solarized' video. By 'solarized' I mean it flashes between poor quality, jumpy, and a grey 'solarized' look. Constant flashing all the way through the video.

Any ideas?

What player are you using?
Does the same thing happen in QuickTime Player with Perian installed?

That is only the last part of a log, where flvtool2 does its thing. It is just meta data. It doesn't hold any vital information for playback, about any encoding errors if present, as reported by ffmpegX.
