    Hello fellow members,
I have been trying to look for a tool to insert a subtitle file (.srt) into an AVI,
without the need of re-encoding or re-converting to any other format. I have
tried searching Google for this specific tool with no avail. I know that it exists
because one of my friends suggested it to me a while ago. Yet, sadly, I have
lost it and cannot remember its name anymore. Therefore, I have approached
this respected forum to seek help finding this useful tool, again...

P.S. I am not attempting to burn the movie to DVD or re-encode it again, so
the file size has hardly any change after the insertion of the SRT file.

Try avimuxgui. But it requires that you have vsfilter installed to be able to see the see subs.

This actually hardcodes the subtitles, doesn't it? I quite much need them to be optional. *-)

Nope, avimuxgui doesn't hardcode. Or use AVIAddXSubs but it's really not an avi but a .divx with embedded subtitles.

@Sambat: I'll check out your link, might be what I was looking for.
@Baldrick: I already have VobSub, thus I can see subtitles.
