    I have a Samsung dvd-4155 DVD Player/recorder.
I can put a new DVD/RW in and format and use it fine.

If I then format the same DVD on my computer, I can also play it in the Samsung OK.

But, I can't reformat the DVD using the Samsung after the my Win XP computer has formatted it. The menu in the the DVD Player shows up normally but the Disk Manger for formatting a new or used DVD is no longer there. So DVDs becomes useful for recording directly on the DVD Player.

How can I return a DVD to its original state so that the Samsung DVD Player will recognize it as something to be formatted again.

I formatted with Sony DVD Architect and aso IMGBurn but both create playable DVDs that can not be formatted in the Samsung.
