    The PS3/X360/HTPC are too expensive. Most DVD/HDD player would not support WMV. And when there are, it is hard to come by locally.

    What is a cheap and can be easily found device that will play AVI, WMV, and MPG? Or just AVI and WMV?

    (Has to be able to connect to the TV. No hand held stuff.)

    You are already typing on it. A computer will do all of that and there is no additional cost to you. How is that for cheap?
