My guess would be that's it's the same as the other Philips DVD players... At least it's worth a try, huh?

There may not be an unlock code for this model. All players can't be unlocked. A few years ago Philips just about didn't make any players that couldn't be unlocked, but now we're getting posts about various Philips models that can't be unlocked. Hollywood has gotten to almost all of the major manufacturers and convinced them to stop making DVD players that can be unlocked. Exactly what this is supposed to accomplish is a great question as it will surely lead to even more piracy and fewer sales, but nobody in Hollywood seems smart enough to figure that out.

Maybe you will get lucky and someone will post an unlock code that works.
I can't recommend that you just try some other model's unlock code as there is always a chance that you might destroy your player doing that. If you are sure you can take it back if it gets bricked, then you might try that.

LOL It always disturbs me when you write that. It sounds like you are saying "no players can be unlocked", rather than, "only some players can be unlocked".

"Not all players can be unlocked"?
"Unlocking on players is not 100%"?
"The amount of players that can be unlocked is less than total"?

jagabo - Point well taken. I'll go with one of Supreme2k's suggestions, probably the first one.

The old hack for the DVP3020 work:

    1. Press the Setup button on your remote control
    2. Using your remote control, highlight but do not select the Preferences menu
    3. Press the 1 button on your remote control
    4. Press the 3 button on your remote control
    5. Press the 8 button on your remote control
    6. Press the 9 button on your remote control
    7. Press the 3 button on your remote control
    8. Press the 1 button on your remote control
    9. Using the Up and Down buttons on your remote control select 1 for region 1, 2 for region 2, and so on, or 0 for multi-region playback
    10. Press the Enter button on your remote control
    11. Press the Setup button on your remote control
