WD TV Media Player Thumbnail issue

I have an issue with 4 .MP4 video files & my WD TV Media PLayer that I cannot figure out, all of my other videos, be it mp4, mkv, avi, or what have you. All display a thumbnail pic as long as I name the video & the jpeg the same name.
I contacted WD about these four files & they are telling me the thumbnail has to be embedded into the video, & that I would need a third party program like iTunes to do this, but I cant get these movie files to load into iTunes let alone add an embedded image to them, anyone have any Ideas?
