Canon HF10 vs HF20

I'm rather on market for tape camcorder, but I still have question about card ones.
HF10 is older model than HF20, but has bigger sensor (HF10-1/3" vs 1/4" on HF20)
Is HF20 sensor is better despite that is smaller?
Main difference is that HF20 is capable of 24mBps recording.
Anyone?

Reviews are lacking but camcorder info is hinting the small sensor is a relatively poor performer.

I recently bought the HF200 and did the same comparison. Yeah, the HF200 has a smaller physical sensor but greater density so an overall larger effective pixel count.

HF200 is capable of 24mbps recording.

Supposedly, some consider the HF11 better but general consensus was the HF20 is better than than the HF10.

Consider getting the SDHC only models because of the significant price difference. For me, also easier to pop out the SDHC card than hook up the entire camcorder to the PC.

I recently too bought the HF200 after debating a lot whether to got for the HF10 or HF200 (same price), but got the HF200 because I simply wanted the newer model. I do see quite a bit of noise when filming indoors in auto mode (better with cinema mode) but I figured I won't be shooting that much in darker circumstances anyway.

If only it had an external mic jack and manual audio level control. But I repeat myself.

just what motor is it you hear? they are all flash memory card based recorders.

Yes it is zoom motor... its a no no... I heard it for the first time today... and it does go into audio! I dont know how I missed it, but it is very evident now...I have a HF200 bought 6 months ago!

Called Canon, they say it's not normal... sending it out to them in Dec after I return from vacation...

I just bought this camcorder , hence I am here. I found information that made me want to buy it from here for the Canon HF20 . I then went shopping for a discount and found that at www.hf20.org .

So far the camera has been nothing buy great. I love the sleekness of it and its so portable
