Archiving TV captures, although hard drives are cheap enough now that may be changing.

I primarily use my blank dvd's for DVD backups. I have 2 boys ages 3 and 7 that love to scratch the hell out of our dvd's. I think I have had to replace the backup of Disneys Car's about 6 times so far!

I do use dvd's for special occassions like birthdays, holidays, etc but I get way more use backing up my commercial dvds.

Mostly DVD backup, but I use a lot for just data backups and general system backups. Blu-ray will my next step, primarily for data backup.

Ah so a true implementation of the COASTER feature built in to some recordable dvds huh?

    Hmm....
    That's a hard one.....

All of above, except the BluRay option.

Although i would say the majority is bootleg concert collecting & trading.
Must be upward of around 600 now.
I stopped counting audio and now just go by GB's, about 200.

Primarily, I use re-witable DVD media, for timeshifting TV. I save only about 20% of what I record to view again.

I thought that was what the DVD tray was for, it's a handy drink holder.

You have to ration that - it's only good for 24 uses. It does say 24X on it after all...

    62% have moved to Blu-ray?!
I find it hard to believe that many people are using a $10 BD-R,I still use a $.40 DVDR for data and video.

Yeah, I wouldn't believe it if it were less.

But surprisingly only 11% (ATM) stated to move to Blu, it is very low percentage considering this is videohelp and not some JoeShmoe-chats-about-sport-dot-com website.

True but perhaps more would say yes if it was a poll specifically asking have you switched to bluray yet. Perhaps those fully switched to bluray would tend to stay away from dvd-centric topics.
