I uploaded a video to the site, 720 h264 mov and 16X9. Thing is, when I play it back there it's stretched and letterboxed. I looked through the help area, but saw no solution.

What could I be doing wrong?

    Thanks in advance

  4. hard to say why it confused youtube, but there are a couple things i would try. first i would not use a .mov container. put the video into plain .mp4 format. second i'd ditch the variable bitrate for the video. go constant bitrate, maybe in the 4-5 mbps range if you want the youtube HD link, lower if you just want the HQ link.

    Thanks for looking this over.

I have no choice in the conatiner or bot rate, it's what the camera defaults to. It's the DXG-566V

  6. well then, if you want them to look right on youtube, you are going to have to re-encode them to a more friendly format. maybe try the free programs handbrake or avidemux, they're in the tools section here.

Thanks again. I just don't understand why this is happening. YouTube says that .mov h264 is a proper format for there.

    Frustrating.

Open the MOV in Xvid4PSP, choose the MP4 container, and Copy for both Video and Audio. This will repackage the file without re-encoding.
