Hello,
I have an old mini DV format camera, and lots of movies that I have shot with it. I am trying to capture the video on my Mac, but my Mac doesn't recognize the camera. The camera doesn't have a fire wire connection, and according to iMovie help, the camera isn't supported. Can anyone refer me to: (1) a video transfer service, (2) a capture device, or (3) an inexpensive camera? Thanks in advance.
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

What model miniDV camcorder is it? It is very rare for one not to have a FireWire port.

Cameras usually use the smaller 4 pin firewire port. You would use a 4 pin to 6 pin cable to connect the camera to the PC.
I don't know if it applies in this case, but I have seen many people not recognize the 4 pin port as firewire since they only think of the firewire 6 pin port.
