region hack for Acoustic solutions dvd-237

Hi, i have pressed set up and then entered 1,3,8,9 and i have found the secret menu
however, i cannot change the region coding, the arrow keys do not work, can anyone help

It's possible the firmware has been changed to prevent the code from working.

All DVD players can't be hacked. Hollywood has gotten to almost everyone who makes them and convinced them to stop producing players that can easily be put into region free mode by consumers. For example, at this time it appears that Samsung does not make a player anywhere in the world that can be made region free. There may no longer exist a hack for your player.

I'm not naive enough to think this will necessarily work, but it seems to me that consumers need to take some action and tell the manufacturers that they will not stand for this. Tell Acoustic Solutions that you will NEVER purchase their stuff again because of this. And do it. If sales plummet, that might actually get the attention of the manufacturers.

You know the crazy thing is that while Hollywood is all smug about how they are "stopping piracy" or some such nonsense with this, the actual result will be a huge increase in piracy as people no longer have any incentive to buy DVDs outside of their home region and will no doubt instead look for ripped versions on P2P networks and such.
