Pioneer DVR-216d odd problem

Hi Everyone
I have a new DVR-216d that burns an odd pattern (line) on every disk I've tried....TY, Verbatim, TDK. I've tried different burn speeds using imageburn and nero.....same thing. Any ideas what could be wrong? Thanks

I've never seen that happen by any dvd burner. Have you tried those TY & VERBATIM discs in another dvd burner to see if that happens as well? Although it could just be your PIONEER 216 drive that's defective. I'd ask for a RMA from where ever you bought it from.

Appears like the laser is in burn mode while the disc itself is stationary, and the laser head is moving back and forth across the disc.

Don't think it is supposed to do that.
