  1. I created a DVD with my favorite videos with a menu. I want to just copy the VOB files off the DVD and have it played.
I am looking to avoid the extra step of making all files mpg files.(especially since some of the of the shows I recorded have more than 1 mpg file, when commercials were taken out) The netbook computer I am playing them on does not have a CD/DVD player and I will not be playing the movies that way.

Is there any free software program that will play VOB files?

Also, can any software play all VOBs continuously? (Would a menu on the DVD cause a problem?)

    Thanks!

The amount of space taken up by BUPs, IFOs and still menus is comparitively insignificant. Just copy the whole VIDEO_TS folder and be done with it.

VLC, Media Player Classic, and Media Player Classic Home Cinema can play the DVD files, starting with the main menu. Open VIDEO_TS.IFO and the menu will load. Use the menu to play the DVD as usual.

Click on the red text in posts to find out what program it relates to. OK MPCHT was mispelled -- it's MPCHC.

Sorry, should have been MPCHC. Mentioned below: Media Player Classic Home Cinema
