Adding Richer Colors and Reducing Blurring

I posted a small video clip on YouTube in hopes that some of the pro's and experts that visit these forums might be able to help me out with. I am looking for ways to add richer more vibrant colors to the video, ie the turf to be greener and maybe for the uniforms to not be such a bright white to where it's hard to see the numbers.

I am also looking for tips to help reducing blur on some of the action shots. Also, feel free to critique and offer other helpful suggestions to help improve the video capture and editing.

I am using Sony Vegas 8.1 for editing and a Conon Vixia HV 30 for Capture.

Regarding the blur, what settings are you using to deinterlace? "blend fields" will blend, you can try "interpolate", it might give better results. IMO, vegas has very poor quality deinterlacer. I usually process with other programs (e.g. avisynth) instead for better quality, and more control. Also ,I'm unsure if Youtube allows for 60p footage? That would be smoother & ideal if there is no limitations (in terms of video size, and fps)

Also in the properties, you can try different types of motion blur (e.g. gaussian is the default)

Regarding color/brightness: vegas has color corrector and brightness/contrast filters in the video fx filters. It's very easy to use & adjust on the fly to your tastes, while looking at the preview. Quick example (resized for preview purposes):

Thank-you for the reply. I changed the contrast and added a color curve which made a big difference. I am basically brand new to this and trying to sponge as much as possible from site like this, but that avisynth looks way too complex for me. It sounds incredible though. I did notice in my render settings I had it at 29fps so I changed that to 60fps and I am waiting to see if that helped things too.
Any links, books, or sites offering tutorials would be much appreciated if you know any.

60fps will definitely look smoother, at least on local playback. But as I said above, I don't know what the current YouTube "rules" are, it always seems to be changing. They might still convert 60p to 30p, which they used to do. Also they will re-encode and cap the average bitrate to ~2000kbps - that is tiny for an HD video. If it was a 60p video, the picture quality per frame will be worse than a 30p video. I seriously doubt you will obtain acceptable image quality for a 720/60p sports video @ 2000kbps (you can think of it as less bitrate per frame, because there are 2x the number of frames). The limitation here, of course, is crappy YouTube.

Regarding tutorials, there are plenty online. Just search google, and there are literally 1000's of step-by-step video tutorials with different experience levels. If you have a specific goal and can't find an answer by searching, you can post here or on other video forums for help
