  1. Hi all

I have a problem that i can't see to find a solution for.

I ripped my copy of Ronin last night to my Media Center HDD. I use TSmuxer to copy the m2ts file to my HDD (no compression)
In the process i usually leave all the eng pgs streams and just the eng audio.

My problem is that i found out that one of the pgs streams is actually subtitles for the non english speaking bit of the movie. IE forced subtitles.
I have never seen this before on blu-ray, usually these typs of subs are hard encoded into the video stream.

My questions is how do you force these to play in the m2ts container. I now i can use bdsup2sub to convert them but how do you ad them back into the m2ts file and force them to be displayed.

Am i correct in assuming that at this stage there is no codec that will natively display sup subtitles, they have to be converted??

    Many thanks for you help.

HOW do you play the m2ts? If a htpc you can use vsfilter or ffdshow to display external subs but if you have media center that does not support that you probably have to reconvert and add hard/burned in subs in the m2ts.

  3. Thanks
I have K-lite codec pack installed.
m2ts files are played via Vista Media Centre. It sees it as a normal video file.

how am i able to force the subtitles to show for only for that movie. can they be read straight from the m2ts file (sup) or do i need to re encode the subtitles into another format.

I would really like to be able to just keep it all in the m2ts container and not have to have seperate files for the subtitles.

    Thanks again for the assistant.

I don't think it's possible without reconverting and BURN in the subs. You could use xvid4psp, open the m2ts, load the subtitle, convert to a new m2ts, ts h264.

  5. If i dont' try to hard encode them back in.
What are my other options for playing them if i convert the sup file to sub/idx and just leave the files in the same directory as the m2ts file.

When i play back the movie is there a way to force the subtitles to play via this method.
