I used VOB2MPG for the first time based on some of your advice. I used the .IFO function to backup to an MPG file. It went through the process but the .mpg file it produced was very choppy...almost as if it was only capturing every 3rd frame or so. I checked the settings but the software doesn't seem to have many or anything that would explain this. Anyone ever encounter this?

Playback quality is dependent on your Mpeg2 decoding codec. What are you playing the mpeg with?

For example MPCHC has a good internal mpeg2 decoder. If you are using WMP it may be worth installing Dscaler MPEG Filters and boosting their merit.

YEah that went a little over my head actually. I think maybe the easiest thing to do would be to go from DVD to AVI instead....thanks for the post.

Well install Dscaler MPEG Filters first. Reboot and then see if you get smooth playback.
