I have been trying forever to get this to work but no luck. I want to play back Music Videos in my truck. However the trick is i want the videos to be played back from my Western Digital Passport Hard drive. I recently bought the WD HDTV thats reads my Passport but that doesn't work well. Its made more for Movies and not so much Short video clips. Every time I turn the truck on i have to manually set the videos to play in a continous sequencial orderalong with other aynnoances. So i have resorted to finding an In dash Double-Din Headunit that has video play back compatibilty via USB Hard drive. Anybody got any ideas? I know it may sound easy but the headunit needs to do the following things:
1. READ WD PASSPORT
2. VIDEO PLAYBACK via PASSPORT
3. PLAY BACK VIDEOS CONTINOUSLY automatically
Extra Bonus: Video Playlist Compatibilty & Start video playback where last left off. (This May Be Asking Too Much Though)
Thanks any help would be appreciated.

I changed the subject. Just Help Finding doesn't say much.
Thanks.
Well, we have a giant thread on the WD HDTV and had you asked anyone here before you bought it, we could have told you that it doesn't play anything continuously.
Do note that playback of music videos in a place where the driver can see them is most likely illegal under your state's law. However, with 50 states there may be one or a few where it's not illegal. You could be ticketed if it's illegal in your state or a state in which you are traveling and a policeman notices it. If you are involved in an accident during which a music video was playing, it was potentially visible to you and such was illegal in the state where the accident occurred, you could be in for a world of hurt legally speaking. You may not be planning any of that and it's not illegal to direct the video to a place where the driver can't see it, such as a back seat, but it doesn't hurt to point this out just in case.
Actually, if you choose folder mode, you can put your desired videos in a folder as a makeshift playlist (you can even play in a particular order if you name the files with a number prefix in the order you wish them played). The WD TV plays single files if you use the Enter button, but if you use the Play button, it will continuously play all the files in the folder until it comes to the last file. I will test it, but I believe if you choose File Mode, it will play everything on the drive that way too.Originally Posted by jman98
Thanks Supreme the play button versus the enter button to play continous files in file mode sounds very interesting. I will test it.
HUGE THANKS, SUPREME2K!!!! You theory does work! Pressing the Play Button instead of Enter automatically plays all files continuously! This is HUGE for me. Thanks again.
