Hello All
I came accross this website and thought I would give it a try.
I have a large EF (.ef) file I want to open/convert.
It is a older movie that I want to try and view.
I had heard it might open by changing to a .rar extension but I thought I would ask around.
Many Thanks In Advance.

Never heard of it. Go back to whoever you got this file from and ask them. You could try opening it with VLC or MPC and see if they can recognize it.
http://filext.com/ doesn't recognize it either."Shut up Wesley!" -- Captain Jean-Luc Picard

.ef is not listed at FileInfo.com either.

Try to open it in a text editor (PsPAD or Notepad) and take note of the 5 first bytes, whith those maybe you will identify the file.
Post them here if you don't identify the file -
Just out of curiosity how did you resolve your problem? Would be good info for anyone that might be searching the forum with the same problem.

Renamed to .avi and in this case it workeed out fine.
Cannot say it will resolve all issues.
