I've just found out about nlite. What a nifty tool. The ability to create a custom xp install disc with all necessary drivers and software slipstreamed. Man I wish I would have found out about this sooner! I just built a new rig with a fresh install of XP so I am going to make a custom unattended install disc with my drivers and all of my favorite software slipstreamed into it. How useful!
How about your experiences with nlite? How do you use it? Any tips or suggestions you might have?
Anyway good day to all!

Over here the OS is Windows XP + Service Pack 3, thanks to nLite.
No huge complaints until now.
You don't even need to install the evil dotNET thing,
having the required runtime libraries in the application's directory is sufficient.

I've used it for a few years now. Later versions are very easy to use. It will not only slipstream service packs, but updates as well. It will create a super custom install disk, usable only on one machine, but I tend to make my install disks generic to the hardware (I'll install the correct drivers later).
Just install the program and start using it. It will prompt you for all the data it needs.ICBM target coordinates:

There exists vLite as well. Given that "everybody" uses Vista nowadays,
it would be interesting to know how much bloat they got rid of by using vLite :P

I noticed that as well. My wifes laptop has vista on it. I might give it a try as well.
While vista is not my favorite os if you do some tweaking it's not too bad. It does help to have a fast system and plenty of ram.
I still prefer xp though.
But this is getting off topic....Donadagohvi (Cherokee for "Until we meet again") -
OK, let's return to the "on-topic~ness".
OEM setup CD = 479 MB
nLited CD, containing SP3, several hotfixes, drivers,
minus "unneeded" features (Luna Theme, Search Companion,
Windows Tour, etc.) = 321 MB
Not bad, really.
