I had to upgrade my hard drive to a larger one and somehow in the process, I have done something that I am getting this error message about Generic Host Process Win 32 Services has to close. The details don't give any clue about what program it is that it doesn't like. And during this glitch, I discovered that I don't have sound from my speakers but Windows sounds are still active as it does make the closing sound when I sign off.

Does anybody know what I can do to correct this glitch? Where to look? Does the sound have anything to do with this?

    Thanx everybody!
What I need is an exact list of specific unknown problems I might encounter!

If this is a brand new installation and you have a good firewall and AV installed, I would tend to rule out a virus/malware. Sounds like a corrupted system file; quickest thing is to repair reinstall from an XP system disk (assuming you are running XP). A repair reinstall will not destroy your data and will straighten out any corrupted system files. You could also try a system restore, but if the corrupted file is in the restore volume that won't help. It also won't hurt.
