Hello there
I have just bought the DVDR 5570 from Philips and am quite happy with it. There is however something I haven't figured out. Your support would very much be appreciated:
The manual says that subtitles of DIVX movies should be played when carrying the same name as the movie (but with the file extension .srt). So pretty the same thing as on PC. However, when I try to copy .srt-files from a USB stick, those files are not recognised by the recorder and the movies won't show the subtitles. I have also tried to put the .avi and the .srt in a folder and copy the folder to the HDD, unfortunately the HDD only copies the .avi and omits the folder and the .srt.
Are there any suggestions how to solve the problem?
Thank you for your help and kind regards
C.

Try using short, all caps, 8.3 format file names like:
MOVIE.AVI
MOVIE.SRT
Good hint! Will try it out tonight at home!
Thanks a lot
