  1. Can you guys help me choose between the following?
    Pioneer DV 575A
    Pioneer DV 410 V
    Philips 5996/95

Does any of these players support sub titles .srt/.idx/.sub?

I live in India & Pioneer isn't available around here. But I can try to import it with the help of my friends though. Philips is widely available here & I have a few doubts regarding these players. It would be really helpful if you could answer the following questions: Below are the Pros/Cons running on in my mind.

Will any of these play AC3/H.264 Audio?
    Pioneer DV 575A
    Pros: Awesome
Cons: Need to import it. Am not sure about the service availability, just in case.
*Is it worth importing this piece with great difficulty?

    Pioneer DV 410 V
Pros:Available to me via EBay in India.
Cons:Not sure of the Service centre availability.

Philips 5996/95 [Can you guys post the Chipset Info if available on this site?]
Pros: Available in the market, Affordable price, Service available
Cons: Will it play all DivX & H.264/AC3 audio?

    Thanks in Advance

The Philips is Divx Ultra certified and supports (.srt, .smi, .sub, .ssa, .txt) & (.sub) subtitle formats.

The current models do not support h.264. AC3 audio should not be an issue for any player.

You can generally get access to specs and user manuals on the manufacturers website.
