How to create an .avi file with only images and mp3?

Hello again,
i have had trouble doing my translation jobs because i can't find a way to make videos with album cd covers.
like you always see on youtube. i would like to create a video with an mp3 sound and an jpg image (or anyother, i can convert).
recently i have downloaded and installed Antechinus Animator, i thought it had done the job..
but i found out that the file that this tool creates cannot be uploaded to youtube. nor can be burned with my subtitles (created with subtitle workshop, and attempted to burn with AutoGK).
So i would just like to know if there is another way to create an .avi file wich its video is just an image and its sound is a mp3. so that i can use AutoGk to put my subtitlies in.
(note: everytimei try to put my subtitles on the avi video created with Antechinus Animator i get an error that says "Exception: no frames are found")
